PSG supplies Single Vision, Extended Focus, Bifocal and Multifocal Lens designs available in clear, Transitions and Polarised.

Lens Types

Single Vision Lenses

Single vision lenses offer one viewing distance only. They are either used for near work such as reading or for distance. Single Vision Lenses are the most commonly prescribed lenses.
PSG offers Single Vision Grind lenses in Clear, Polarised Grey and Transitions.

Extended Focus (Occupational) Lenses

Extended Focus lenses are used to correct near and intermediate vision. While single vision lenses offer clear vision for areas up to 40cm, Extended Focus lenses offer clear vision for areas up to 2 metres.
PSG offers extended focus lenses in Clear.

Bifocal Lenses

Bifocal lenses contain two different prescriptions in the same lens. While bifocal lenses used to be very popular before multifocal lenses were introduced, they are rarely used these days. PSG also offers inverted bifocals for those that need to read while looking up.
On offer are Clear, Polarised Grey and Transitions bifocals.

Multifocal Lenses

Multifocal lenses (also called Progressive Lenses) offer 3 viewing distances: reading, intermediate and distance, allowing wearers to keep their glasses on at all times, during their activities. Multifocal lenses have progressive powers of correction (from bottom to top), easing eye strain and providing the most natural vision correction.
PSG Offers Multifocal lenses in Clear, Polarised Grey and Transitions.

Polarised Lenses

Xperio Polarised Lenses offer complete protection against UV rays and Sun glare.
They not only block bothersome glare, protecting the eyes and preventing headaches, but also reduce bright light restoring the real colours of the environment.
Xperio Polarised lenses are great for drivers as they improve driver reaction time by 1/3 of a second. That means that at 80 km/h the wearer will stop the vehicle 7 metres sooner.

Polarised Lenses

Crizal® UV Lenses

Crizal UV lenses are the only prescription lenses endorsed by Cancer Council for providing prescription wearers the maximum level of protection possible against the damaging effects of UV radiation. Crizal UV lenses also offer the most enduring clarity of vision by fighting the 5 enemies of clear workplace vision: glare, scratches, smudges, dust and water. Crizal UV lenses help industrial employees to see clearly and make wearing their prescription safety glasses less of a hassle. Visit www.crizaluv.com.au for details.

Optifog® Lenses

The highly technological Optifog® Lenses with the Optifog Smart Textile will provide you with the optimum anti-fogging performance.

The anti-fog top layers placed on the Optifog lens are activated with the Optifog Smart Textile. The Optifog Smart Textile has the power to Activate and Clean the lens at the same time. Neither heat nor cold nor humid conditions will ever cause fog to form on Optifog lenses.

Material

Polycarbonate

PSG lenses are made of polycarbonate, which exceed all current and proposed requirements for medium impact safety products required by Australian and International Standards.
Polycarbonate is the industrial safety premium impact resistant material.
Although some other materials may meet the minimum requirements of the standards, polycarbonate exceeds these requirements by more than double.
Polycarbonate lenses are thinner and lighter in finished weight than any other medium impact material currently available.
The surface coatings applied to our safety lenses add the highest scratch resistance currently available for industrial applications.
Polycarbonate in its clear form provides almost 100% protection from harmful UV radiation.

Product Testing

All PSG products are tested to offer protection of at least 150% of the minimum required by standards and undergo an extensive quality control process before being shipped as a completed item.
As part of the PSG QA system, a 2 barrel .25/.15 cal NATA rated Ballistic Cannon is used.
This instrument is used to impact test a random 1% sampling of completed Prescription Safety Glasses as part of our Quality Testing. It is also being used to develop a range of military specification Rx appliances.
You will see a few other changes over the next few months in the documentation accompanying each pair of glasses, plus new lens and frame designs.

Product Warranty

All products are warranted for 12 months from date of manufacture against any fault in materials or workmanship, and guaranteed to provide the level of protection as at the date of manufacture for no less than that 12 month period.
PSG products are guaranteed against any fault in material or workmanship and provide protection as specified in the Standards for a period of 12 months from the date of manufacture marked on the lenses.
It is recommended that the appliance be replaced 12 months from the date stamped on the lenses. Progressive non-adaptation warranty will cover the cost of replacement lenses only.
